03 Mar Kiana Valenciano Releases Her Very First Full-Length Album Titled See Me Under Tarsier Records.
Kiana releases See Me
The mainstream release of See Me this March is just a bit over a year after the release of her “Grey” EP as well as the release of the album’s title track “See Me” last December.
In See Me, Kiana worked closely with top producers Moophs and Marcus Davis as well as other artists such as Careless Manila artists KINGwAw and Sofia.
See Me is now ripe and ready to be blasted on the airwaves and it contains 10 tracks that showcases Kiana’s ability to cross genres while maintaining her sonic brand. The album also serves as a musical representation of her evolving influences and songwriting style, which amplifies a vibe that resulted from her listening to ‘90s R&B, disco music, and Janet Jackson.
Kiana admits to the difficulty she had to deal with in the making of See Me. “Production was difficult because I had to make sure it’s perfect,” says Kiana.
In the album, Kiana has pushed her limits in songwriting to find the perfect balance between what she wants in making her songs not to seem too generic. However, more than all the technical details and artistic process, the biggest challenge is the vulnerability of showing her true self.
The album attempts to play out a raw and real peek into what’s going on in Kiana’s mind. Today, after working on the album, she has developed a renewed perspective of being unapologetic with her craft. What resulted are original tracks such as “Want You,” “5:30,” and “Keep It A Secret” – which is a collaboration and reunion with rapper Curtismith – to mention a few.
“It’s for me,” says Kiana. “It’s my gift for myself, but I hope when people listen to it, they’d find something that’s for them.”
See Me is now out on all digital music platforms.
